Type of Appointment : This is a Career/Career-Conditional Appointment and does NOT require membership in a compatible military assignment in the Army or Air National Guard. This is a full-time, non-dual status, competitive, permanent position.

Organizational Structure : This position is located within the Air National Guard in Jackson, MS. The purpose of this position is to serve as the personal assistant and principal clerical and administrative support to one or more supervisors. Organization(s) serviced is subdivided into subordinate segments, which are supervised through one or more levels of supervision, or is of limited complexity where extensive responsibility exists for outside coordination. Participates intensively in the management of the office by applying good working knowledge of the program under control of the supervisor(s) and relieves the supervisor(s) of clerical and administrative support work.

As a Secretary (Office Automation), you will:
Receive visitors and telephone calls;
Schedule appointments, meetings and conferences without prior clearance based upon personal knowledge of supervisor''s workload and current issues of importance;
Prepare responses to requests for general information concerning the organization''s functions from source material;
Arrange for travel, arrange visit schedules, notify organizations and officials to be visited, make reservations, and submit travel vouchers and reports;
Utilize word processing equipment to select information from source data or type, from plain copy or rough draft, a variety of material, including military and non military correspondence, reports, summary sheets and staff studies, and statistical and tabular material.
To qualify for this position, you must have:
One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrated comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: gathering and analyzing information; maintaining files and records; preparing responses to request for general information; receiving visitors and telephone calls; keeping the supervisor''s calendar; arranging conferences and meetings, etc.; reviewing outgoing correspondence for format, grammar, spelling, punctuation; making travel arrangements; etc.

Be able to type at least 40 words per minute in a five minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Condition of Employment:
This position meets the criteria of a Non-Dual Status Management Plan as follows: The position resides within the infrastructure and support functions of the state National Guard; the incumbent is not subject to mobilization, nor is the work described part of the military mission; and the incumbent does not perform a key advisory or essential administrative role that is inherently military. In addition, the position must meet one of the following: It does not have a comparable military function; the position is required in full-time (civilian) role when the organization, or similar military position, is mobilized to perform continuing post-mobilization functions; or the position requires a skill or competency that necessitates technical expertise or professional qualifications that cannot be readily found in the military structure of the state military force.
Must be able to obtain a Government CAC.
Must currently hold or become immediately eligible to attain an ANACI or Secret Security Clearance.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
