WAPT-TV, Hearst Television's ABC affiliate in Jackson, MS has an opening for a Reporter/ Anchor. The Reporter/Anchor position requires an energetic journalist who can tell clear stories on tight deadlines. Candidate must be nimble with words and able to process abstract ideas to keep viewers informed and engaged. The job will include high demands for well written stories on tight deadlines. IRE style training will be a plus. Prior anchor experience is a plus. The candidate will be able to handle high stress environments, compete and bring lead story material to daily editorial meetings.

o On-Air Live shots
o Writing/Gathering 2-3 Stories a day
o Pitch a new lead story idea everyday
o Fill-In Anchoring & Possible Newsroom Anchor duties
o Web story writing/publishing

o Valid driver's license
o Professional appearance at all times
Education:Education:
o College Degree or Equivalent broadcast experience

o 3 years of On-Air Experience
o Substantial TV writing experience
