Maintenance (Mechanical) Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
:
Provide direction to team to successfully execute the work flow process
Directing the supervision of all plant maintenance functions involving equipment, buildings, systems and grounds to include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding
Developing and implementing a predictive and preventive maintenance strategy
Schedule, and execute maintenance activities for assigned equipment to maximize availability of equipment and meet specific needs of customers
Provide support for troubleshooting and resolving daily problems
Creates and executes plans to meet changing needs of the operation
Develop the technical competency of his/her team
Apply knowledge of new technology available, industry trends and development to improve the operation
Ensure all assigned workers, including contractors, are performing their tasks safely, productively, and in full compliance will all applicable regulations and policies
Continuously review the PM program for the assigned equipment to determine effectiveness and fully optimize
Enter, update, review, and close work orders in the MP2 as required
Assessing mechanic performance
Monitor all equipment downtime and determine root cause
Provide emergency supervisory services if required for breakdown as required
Enforcing a safe work environment and ensuring maintenance personnel are practicing best safe work practices
Working with operations leaders to ensure equipment/asset availability that will best meet customer requirements
Support communication and commitment of all employees to the GP Principles
Basic
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Five or more years of maintenance experience, in a manufacturing/industrial or military environment
Three or more years of supervisory experience
Working knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination
Must have experience routinely utilizing Root Cause Analysis or other similar problem solving tools
Working experience with CMMS systems such as MP2 system
Must be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including periods of time in noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
Must be able and willing to work safely, and promote and enforce safe work practices
Must have a solid working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, and the ability to learn various PC-based production reporting applications
Preferred
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in a technical field
Journeyman mechanical certification
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:
Project management experience
Working knowledge of rolling stock maintenance
Analytical thinking skills
Team leadership skills, capable of leading personnel to ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions
Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies
Capable of teaching other employees, and facilitating training sessions
