The incumbent serves as a Social Worker whose duties and responsibilities relate to the care management of severely ill and injured Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) service to members and Veterans treated at the facility. The incumbent must use a high level of skill in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of EOF and OIF service members and Veterans as they transition to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) care. The social worker case manager addresses home care needs, homelessness, and transition across levels and sites of care. Social work care management practice, which includes psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, is focused on helping OEF and OIF service members. Veterans and their families maximize rehabilitation and treatment potential and achieve more adequate, satisfying, and productive emotional and social functioning.
The incumbent may serve on committees, work groups, and task forces at the facility, VISN and VA Central Office levels. Keeps supervisor apprised of problems and recommended solutions to problems encountered in the incumbent's area of responsibility. Must maintain a level of productivity and quality consistent with facility and social work standards and the complexity of the assignment.

2. _EDUCATION:_ AMaster's Degree in Social Work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. A doctoral degree in social work_may not_ be substituted for the master's degree in social work.

3. _LICENSURE:_ _Must be licensed or certified at the Master's level to independently practice social work in a state_.
4. _ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY IS REQUIRED_ .Social Workers must be proficient in spoken and written English.
5. _EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT_ :Experience must have been in a _healthcare clinical setting_ working with the adult population where chronic mental health/homelessness is the focus of care and case management, must have demonstrated the potential to perform assignments independently, OR a doctoral degree in social work from a school of social work may be substituted for the one ( 1 ) year of professional social work experience in a healthcare clinical setting.
6. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work may require using appropriate methods of resources to physically restrain veterans who present a danger to self or others. The work may also require accommodating the needs of physically disabled veterans. Day-to-day work involves sitting, walking, standing and carrying light objects such as medical records.
_Healthcare Clinical Setting_ : Defined as a medical center, medical or psychiatric outpatient clinic, or a residential treatment center; healthcare clinical setting focus is with the adult population where chronic mental health/homelessness is the focus; the social work experience demonstrates participation in collaborative treatment and identified with the medical and mental health profession.
GS-11: Requires one ( 1 ) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level.In addition to meeting all basic requirements, one ( 1 ) year ofprofessional social work experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level, under qualified social work supervision.The experience is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of that position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.Must meet all basic requirements. Specialized experience can be defined as the experience providing clinical evidence based treatment, case management, services and interventions; knowledge or experience working in a health care setting is preferred; community outreach; resource development; continuous quality improvement activities; and evaluation/consultation; developing and establishing linkages and collaborates on VA support efforts with community healthcare and social service agencies; participating in identification and assessment and the development and application of directed clinical treatment interventions; and implementing education focused on specific needs/issues. This specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
Experience, Education and Licensure: For the GS-11 level, the Social Worker must be licensed at the State's Independent level. Experience listed must demonstrate possession of a Independent practice skills and judgment, case management, working with adult populations in an inpatient or outpatient healthcare setting as defined above, demonstrating progressively a professional competency.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
