Asphalt Plant Operator : Operates asphalt plant controls to produce asphalt paving materials. Adjusts controls for required mixture of the materials. Operates controls that admit materials separately from storage hoppers or mixing bins. Observes indicator that show when proper amount of materials have been made. Discharges materials from bin into truck. Performs other related duties. Assists in maintenance and report of plant equipment. May perform other related duties. Job Must be able to climb stairs/ladders to top of plant. Uses tools such as sledge hammer, wrenches, screw drivers, cutting torch, welder, pneumatic hammer/drill, sand blaster, pipe wrench. Answers telephone, radio, and takes and inputs orders. Overtime work is required. May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather. The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented. Some travel may be required.
