This position is located in the Risk Management Agency, Deputy Administrator for Insurance Services, Risk Management Regional Office, located in Jackson, MS.
The Position:
Performs duties related to underwriting and agricultural program activities that support crop insurance programs and policies.
Develops, implements and promotes agricultural risk management strategies as a key component of agricultural risk management theories.
Provides technical expertise on agricultural practices and crop insurance policy.
Serves as Agency liaison in/for activities designed to deliver outreach and agricultural risk management education to the public regarding crop insurance programs.
THE SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION IS NOT QUALIFYING FOR THE GS -12 LEVEL.
College Transcript: If you are qualifying based on education, submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses detailing each course by the number and department (i.e., bio 101, math 210, etc.), course title, number of credit hours and grade earned. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION AND FINGERPRINT CHECK: Selection and retention in this position is contingent upon a successfully adjudicated FBI National Criminal History Check (fingerprint check) and a background investigation.

Qualifications:
Two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or masters or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a field of study in agriculture, agricultural economics, farm management, agronomy, horticulture, economics, statistics, actuarial science, business administration or any other field directly related to the position to be filled. OR
At least one full-time year (12 months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-7 grade in the Federal service that demonstrates a fundamental knowledge of programs, policies, procedures and regulations applicable to crop, crop insurance, insurance, agriculture, agriculture cycle and trends, and/or agricultural risk management practices, with skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. OR
Less than the full amount of graduate education and less than the full amount of experience but I have a combination of graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate education in excess of the first year (18 semester hours) may be combined with experience.
You may start at the GS-11 level if you have one of the following
Qualifications:
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a field of study in agriculture, agricultural economics, farm management, agronomy, horticulture, economics, statistics, actuarial science, business administration or any other field directly related to the position to be filled. OR
At least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-9 level in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical working knowledge of crop insurance programs. In addition, a practical working knowledge of a range of concepts and principles, relating to agriculture sciences, management, insurance principles, risk management, statistical analysis, and actuarial/underwriting subjects, programs, policies, procedures and regulation applicable to agriculture. OR
A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate education beyond the second full year (36 semester hours) may be combined with experience.
You may start at the GS-12 level if you have the following
Qualifications:
One full-time year (12 months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 level in Federal service. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of current procedures and practices used in the sales and service of crop insurance contracts in order to be aware of the impact underwriter determinations have on agency functions. Expert knowledge of a wide range of concepts and principles related to agricultural sciences agricultural risk management programs, agricultural statistical analysis, actuarial/underwriting for agricultural insurance products, or other programs, policies, procedures and regulations applicable to agriculture.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
