Summary:
Provides administrative leadership for Perioperative Services.
Responsibilities include oversight, direct.
and coordinate the fiscal, administrative, and operational activities for perioperative and sterile processing services for university hospital(s).
To develop devise and implement operational strategies and initiatives that ensures services provided meet or exceed quality, safety, and financial goals for the organization.
Education & Experience 5 years experience in healthcare administration, preferably in an academic medical center.
Experience must include leadership in perioperative and procedural services.
Two years in a senior management capacity.
Master's degree required.
Experience cannot be substituted for educational requirement.
Certifications, licenses or registration required:
None Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of hospital administration and all dimensions of perioperative and sterile processing services.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and the coordination of people and resources.
Analytical, organizational, and problem resolution skills.
Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies.
Ability to develop, implement and measure improvement initiatives in perioperative services.
Ability to work effectively across disciplines.
Responsibilities Oversight of the operations of the perioperative services departments:
ensures compliance with regulatory (local, state, and federal) and licensure requirements as well as accreditation standards; facilitates continuous quality improvement and patient safely programs while ensuring that these departments operate within established budget parameters.
Develops and fosters effective collaboration between perioperative services.
clinical support services, ambulatory clinical practices, medical staff leadership, faculty, and other affiliated services (inside and outside of the hospital) to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling the hospital's clinical, research, and educational goals and objectives.
Establishes and implements short- and long-range operational goals, objectives, strategic initiatives policies, and quality measures that are aligned with the overall UMMC mission and vision.
Monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness within perioperative services and effects changes required for improvement.
Works through the management team and medical staff leadership of the hospital(s) to reduce cost, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization of resources; and attain quality goals and objectives.
Plans, develops, and implements new business strategies to strengthen existing clinical and administrative activities, as well provide for strategic growth to enhance market share and improve overall performance.
Ensures that transparency is an organizational value through the sharing of outcomes and results and the promotion of effective two-way communication between leadership and employees.
Develops strategy to establish and achieve long range organizational goals and ensure the implementation of strategic business plans that aligned with the vision, strategic plans, and goals of the institution.
Works in concert with the Chief Perioperative services, Surgical Chair, Chief Anesthesia, Chair of Neurosurgery, Chair of Ophthalmology, Chair of Otolaryngology and others to maintain the highest of quality and safety standards.
Oversees major workforce and resource decisions for perioperative services leads and supports key committees and task forces pertaining to service areas.
Recommends and par1icipales in the development of university policies and procedures; serves on university planning and policy making committees.
Maintains an organizational structure and staff lo accomplish organizational goals and objectives; hires.
supervises, and evaluates staff; ensures compliance with applicable standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
