The Director of Canopy Compliance (DCC) oversees Canopy Children's Solutions' adherence to applicable federal and state laws and regulations, as well as Canopy Children's Solutions healthcare compliance requirements, policies and procedures.
The DCC position is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective and efficient healthcare compliance program with oversight and guidance in relation to governmental regulations associated with healthcare fraud, waste and abuse.
Duties are performed in accordance with established professional policies, practices, regulatory requirements, and accrediting body standards.
The DCC will serve as Chair of the Canopy Audit and Compliance Committee, as well as a member of the Privacy/Security Committee.

Responsibilities:
Serve as the focal point for all compliance activities and as the Canopy Children's Solutions Compliance Officer.
Work closely with the Sr.
Director of Legal and Compliance, the Senior Management Team, Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, and the Canopy Audit and Compliance Committee to determine and promote compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as Canopy Children's Solutions policies and procedures.
Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive Canopy Compliance Program and maintain an up to date Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct.
Present regular reports to the Sr.
Director of Legal and Compliance, Senior Management Team and the Board of Directors, keeping them informed of audit and compliance findings.
Supervise and oversee the duties of the Health Information Management department, and confirm the appropriate functioning of the department's activities.
Oversee and/or coordinate compliance monitoring for all Canopy Children's Solutions departments, employees, and other appropriate third parties.
Oversee, direct, or deliver compliance training for all employees, volunteers, contractors, business associates, and other appropriate third parties.
Organize and document all compliance efforts, including drafting of quarterly and annual Audit and Compliance Reports.
Keep current and up-to-date on applicable federal and state, grant and contract compliance laws, as well as other applicable regulations and requirements.
Provide for regular review of overall Canopy Children's Solutions compliance efforts to ensure that programs/services/practices reflect current requirements and that adjustments are made to improve Canopy Children's Solutions compliance.
Establish and oversees a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, and acting on all compliance functions and requirements.
Perform or conduct the oversight of various special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Required
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, (Master's Degree in related field preferred.
)Must have five (5) years combined experience in the following fields:
corporate healthcare compliance; federal/state regulations; assessment and audit; corporate/non-profit businesses.
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or related certification required.
Excellent communication/presentation and computer skills required, including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft and Excel.
Must be willing to use personal vehicle, when necessary, for travel.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
