SHIFT:
7am - 7pm Every other Saturday and Sunday BASIC FUNCTION:
Provides patient-related secretarial/clerical services, order entry, and medical record maintenance for a nursing unit Regulates the flow of information among patients, families, visitors, and staff to facilitate routine unit activities Provides for efficient work flow; receives and initiates nurse calls and telephone calls courteously and appropriately Handles confidential information regarding patients and staff according to hospital and national standards Initiates actions required to obtain services, treatment, supplies, and equipment as ordered in the physician order sheet Keeps unit and patient records in current order, with appropriate stationary and patient identification KNOWLEDGE AND
Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent required; some college education desirable Secretarial /clerical skills; computer operation essential Ability to courteously and effectively communicate with patients, family, caregivers, all levels of staff Medical terminology experience preferred; able to work independently Previous experience as a Unit Clerk/Secretary strongly preferred METHODIST REHABILITATION CENTER 1350 E.
