Since our Software Controls Engineers travel to our client's site, they can live anywhere, not necessarily near any Fortna office. Some international travel may be required for this position.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Assisting with Fortna Warehouse Control Software (FortnaWCS) setup, configuration and design, including GUI interface and development using QNX operating systems.
Developing project schedules, budgets and assisting with the delivery of quality solutions on-time and within budget
Performing testing, debugging, implementation and support during go-lives at our Client sites
Troubleshooting and making modifications to industrial motor controls, I/O and pneumatic subsystems and variable speed drives
Developing, maintaining and providing current documentation to Fortna's Technical Writing Team
Providing training to the Client's on-site staff
Responding promptly and professionally to any Client issues
Completing support tickets that include detailed problem analysis and resolutions
Assisting in the Controls Design Review (CDR) process
Assisting Fortna's Engineering team in improving and streamlining the implementation by contributing ideas, recommendations and suggestions
Required
Experience:
Required Qualifications:
4
years of experience with industrial controls
Experience troubleshooting motors, scanners, VFD's, photoeyes, encoders and other electrical controls
Knowledge of PLCs, including the ability to program and troubleshoot them
Knowledge of control panels, including wiring them
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
Knowledge of pneumatics and troubleshooting pneumatic systems
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
Ability to travel extensively both domestically and internationally
Functional knowledge of conveyor is a plus
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in software engineering or related field
Ability to converse in Spanish
Experience in Material Handling systems
Experience in conveyor control systems
PLC experience
