__ _MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS_: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible position as required by TPR 303. Although conditions of employment, such as grade/rank restrictions, medical, technician compatibility, etc., are not used to determine an applicant's eligibility to apply for a position, the applicant must meet the conditions prior to appointment in the position.

_AREA OF CONSIDERATION_: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709, and is restricted to current technicians at AASF #1, Jackson, MS
This is an indefinite position, tenure 3, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Any permanent military technician who is selected for this position will become tenure 3. The selectee will receive the same benefits and entitlements as the tenure 1 employee, but will be considered tenure 3 for purposes of reduction in force. If a permanent resource becomes available, incumbent may be converted to a permanent appointment without competition.
You must maintain membership in National Guard for continuous employment.
_DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:_ This position is located at the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF), Training Operations Branch.The purpose of the position is to instruct and perform flight crew work supporting heavy multi-engine aircraft, and to provide assistance to the pilot in the overall operation of the aircraft.Primary aircraft include CH 54 Tarhe medium-lift helicopter.CH 47 Chinook medium -lift transport helicopter, and/or UH 60 A Black Hawk transport helicopter.The aircrafts missions include combat service support airlift for movement of heavy supplies, vehicles, aircraft and equipment, troop air assaults: extractions and resupply of troops, and aeromedical evacuations: search and rescue: ice break: mine sweep: and air support of national disasters and state contingencies.
GENERAL
Experience: _ _ Experience which has provided the applicant witha knowledge of aircraft weight and balance computations; aircraft performance data; aircraft records maintenance; and aircraft systems.

SPECIALIZED
Experience: Applicants must possess 30 months of specialized experience which has provided the applicant with (1) experience in serving as instructor/flight examiner providing instruction, evaluation and examination on ground and operational training flight (2) experience in planning and conducting aircrew training program, (3) experience in preparing formal course outlines, (4) experience in flight engineering work supporting the operation of heavy multiengine aircraft, (5) experience in controlling and operating aerial refueling systems aboard tanker aircraft, and (6) experience in loading, positioning, and securing cargo in transport aircraft.
NOTE: Your application must contain a description of both civilian and military experience as it relates to the general and specialized experience requirements.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. You must provide proof with application of eligibility to hold appropriate military grade.
