Program Support Assistant (OA)

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performing a variety of administrative tasks. - Assists the Administrative Officer in coordinating the service's teaching program for fellows, residents, and students on their various rotations. - He/she will track and maintain files for positions requiring licensure insuring that files are current and completed. - Processes incoming and outgoing administrative materials such as policies, memoranda, employee counseling's, proficiencies, correspondence, work orders and various other reports and correspondence. - Screens all publications, directives, and periodicals. - Functions as a receptionist for the Office of the Chief, Surgical Service, greeting and referring staff as well as visitors. - Performs office automation duties, using a variety of software applications. - Arranges meetings, schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and schedules conferences. - Obtains and monitors the use of services, supplies and equipment in the office. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
providing a full range of administrative support to include tracking and following up on actions and composing and typing confidential correspondence, monitor and update policies based on supervisor guidance, and excellent customer service and communication skills. OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond successfully completed post-high school (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED). You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
