Dental Lab Technician

Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
Provides a full range of dental laboratory procedures in the areas of fixed and removable prosthodontics; Works with providers in developing, designing and fabricating complex or intra-oral appliances; Fabricates or oversees the fabrication of appliances from start to finish; Resolves problems and repairs dental prosthetic appliances; Pours and mounting cases for complete and removable partial dentures; Applies porcelain/acrylic to metal substructures to include stacking, shaping, and staining color to match the prescription request; Completes all repair procedures on crown and bridge appliances; Sets teeth for dentures and partials; Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience:
Possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level equivalent to a GS-7 in the federal service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specific qualifying specialized experience for this position (which should be documented on your resume) is:
experience using dental lab materials such as impression materials, plasters, stones, hydrocolloids, waxes, metals, acrylics, porcelain, and similar materials; experience using laboratory equipment such as hand tools, dental lathes, engines, and hand pieces, furnaces, casting machines, presses, flasks, and related equipment; experience using precision instruments such as articulators, surveyors, and microanalyzers; and experience constructing dental prosthetic appliances. OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION:
Successfully completed one and one-half (1 ) years of graduate education with courses directly related to this occupation as a dental laboratory technician. NOTE TO APPLICANTS:
One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study; if that number cannot be obtained from the transcript, 18 semester hours will be considered as one full academic year of graduate study. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
