Administrative Services Specialist

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for a variety of administrative support services. Typical work assignments will include:
Performing monthly reconciliations of government charge cards. Serving as liaison with vendors and contractors. Assisting staff with questions about travel regulations and preparing travel authorizations using electronic travel system. Making purchases and entering into contracts within delegated monetary authorization within governing regulations and guidelines via formal acquisition procedure or via government purchase card. Drafting final contract documents and representing the USAO with respect to contract inquiries. Administering a wide variety of administrative support activities, e.g., office moves, reorganizations, and communication systems changes. Coordinating with EOUSA on space management and office design projects. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. GS-9:
To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. Specialized
Experience:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Examples of specialized experience include assisting or performing the following:
entering or tracking budgetary data; preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses or obligations; overseeing property inventory; overseeing the disposal or transfer of records; providing administrative support services in areas such as space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, reproduction services, travel, and expert witnesses/consultants. Education:
One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, etc.):
a Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B.); OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Combining Education and
Experience:
Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year. GS-11:
To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. Specialized
Experience:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. Examples of specialized experience include formulating or executing an office budget; preparing a variety of reports concerning the status of funds, expenses or obligations; planning or procuring office equipment, supplies, and/or furniture; and projecting and analyzing space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes and technology improvements. Education:
One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, etc.):
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Combining Education and
Experience:
Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years. Must be able to obtain and retain at least a level 1 (one) Federal Acquisitions Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) as a federal contracting professional, FAC-C has specific training requirements with some courses online as well as classroom courses. To maintain a FAC-C, contract professionals are required to meet the continuous training requirement. To meet FAC-C requirements:
a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field. -OR- at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields:
accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizations and management. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
