Business Software Analyst-Core Banking Applications at Trustmark National Bank in Jackson, MS

Overview The purpose of this job is to provide support to business areas within the company by defining technical and operational improvements of business processes as related to the Core Banking Applications. This position will act as a liaison between IT and business owners for on-going, Core Banking application support and problem resolution.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with business owners, as a representative of IT, to formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a thorough understanding of applicable business systems and the Core Banking Applications. Assist business owners with identification of technical problems and issues within the Core Banking Applications. Work closely with Core Programming & Code Development team to plan database and program specifications and design screens and reports necessary to fulfill the information needs of the business unit. Review and edit requirements, specifications, and business processes and recommendations for proposed software solutions. Ensure business owner issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. Works with end users to creates detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Coordinate functional requirements with business management and IT to determine the most cost effective solutions. Make recommendations in the form of proposals. Proactively seek opportunities for business improvements. Anticipate business needs before they arise and present solutions for those needs. Supervise and perform tests of Core Banking Applications and modifications to existing interfaces. Develop accurate and complete test plans. Assist with the enforcement of project deadlines and schedules. Prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Establish responsible deadlines and work plans between IT and the Business owner. Works with end users to develop and execute test cases/scripts for FIS Systematics application changes. Develop in-depth knowledge of the information needs of the business unit and the technical skills to support those needs, by regular interaction with business owners. Proactively provide project support and administrative functions. Ensure adherence to IT department standards. Qualifications At least 6 years of FIS Systematics Application knowledge Knowledge of FIS Systematics application processes, design, construction, architecture and resulting business functionality. Familiar with conversion processes and methodologies to be able to convert bank data into FIS Systematics applications Understanding of banking and financial applications and procedures and the interaction between legacy and web-based applications Understanding of database structures and database access methodologies desirable Basic understanding of client/server, internet, intranet and mainframe systems Understanding of data presentation and reporting methodologies Understands project plans and project management methodologies Competency desirable in use of COBOL programming, DB2 and VSAM FIS Systematics Core Application Knowledge Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take. Proficiency in business modeling and requirements definition disciplines through use cases, etc. Analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills People skills, leadership qualities Self-starter to proactively deliver high-quality service to clients Ability to manage projects effectively to set objectives and prioritize multiple tasks Ability to communicate effectively with business owners to identify needs Four-year college education OR Equivalent work experience Experience with banking and/or financial software applications Demonstrable hands-on experience with current database technologies Project management experience Experience with core banking applications (Loans, Deposits and CIS) in the FIS Systematics suite
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
